Zebrano Wood

Zebrano wood, also known as zebrawood, originates from the Central African species Microberlinia, particularly Microberlinia brazzavillensis. It is notable for its distinctive zebra-like stripes, characterized by a light golden-yellow base with streaks of dark brown to black. This striking appearance makes it a popular choice for decorative applications like veneers, furniture, and paneling, as well as in the crafting of musical instruments and turnery.

The wood's scent profile, especially when being worked, is quite unique and generally pleasant. It emits a light, earthy aroma with hints of grassy notes, somewhat similar to fresh hay with a slightly spicy undertone. This mild scent is not overpowering, enhancing the experience of working with the wood without overwhelming the senses. Zebrano's appeal is thus not only visual but also olfactory, contributing to its desirability among woodworkers and artisans.
