Tuberose

Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) is a highly fragrant, perennial plant belonging to the agave family, originating from Mexico. Notably cultivated for its scent, tuberose blooms from late summer into fall, producing clusters of waxy, white flowers on elongated stems, which infuse the air with their intense aroma.

The scent profile of tuberose is opulent and seductive, characterized by a rich, creamy, and intensely floral fragrance. It is often described as having notes of jasmine and gardenia, enhancing its lush, velvety depth. Tuberose also exhibits subtle hints of spice and greenness, adding complexity and making the aroma intoxicating and memorable. Due to its powerful profile, it is a favorite in perfumery, often used as a heart note in floral and oriental fragrances.

Despite its potent sweetness, tuberose is also known for having an almost carnal undercurrent, which some attribute to trace elements reminiscent of menthol or camphor, adding a refreshing contrast to its warm floralcy. This blend of sweetness and depth makes it versatile in both contemporary and traditional compositions, revered for its enchanting and enduring presence.
