Lemon Petitgrain

Lemon petitgrain essential oil is derived from the leaves and twigs of the lemon tree, Citrus limon. Unlike lemon essential oil, which is extracted from the fruit's rind, lemon petitgrain is obtained through the steam distillation of the green parts of the plant. This process yields an oil with a distinctively fresh, floral, and citrusy aroma that is complex and subtly herbaceous.

In terms of its scent profile, lemon petitgrain is characterized by its bright and clean top notes of lemon and green nuances, which blend seamlessly into floral and slightly woody middle notes. The base notes tend to carry a light, earthy undertone, providing a grounding effect to the sharper citrus elements. The overall scent is both uplifting and calming, making it a favorite for aromatherapy and perfumery. Lemon petitgrain is often used to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and invoke a sense of freshness and cleanliness. It is a versatile ingredient that pairs well with other citrus oils, floral notes like lavender and neroli, and even spice and wood scents, enhancing its appeal in both personal and home fragrance products.
