Agarwood

Agarwood, also known as oud, is a fragrant dark resinous wood used in incense, perfume, and small carvings. It forms in the heartwood of aquilaria trees when they become infected with a type of mold. Over time, the tree produces a dense, dark resin in response to this attack, which embeds within the heartwood. The resin-embedded wood is highly valued for its distinctive fragrance.
